Forget the image of the lone writer toiling away in solitude! The truth is most writers crave a supportive community and don’t know where or how to find the right one.
Why? The right community can be a creative firestarter, quieting your inner critic and igniting fresh ideas.
More and more writers are finding solace in the solution that is the Yogic Writing Circle.
• Find your focus: Craft a nourishing and productive writing routine that fits your schedule.
• Silence the inner critic: Learn to overcome negative self-talk and fear of failure that hold you back from expressing your unique voice.
• Spark inspiration: Reignite your passion with invigorating exercises that generate fresh ideas.
• Thrive in a supportive community: Offer and receive encouragement, feedback, and
accountability from fellow writers to propel your growth.
•Gain insights from monthly guest speakers: Each month, we host a guest speaker—a writer, editor, author, inspirational speaker, or community member—to share their insights and offerings. This session includes a Q&A, providing valuable advice on all aspects of writing.
Our bi-weekly sessions (Mondays at noon & Thursdays at 9 am EST) are double the fun, meaning double the progress! You can come to one or both each week!
Here’s why you’ll love it:
• Unwind & Ignite: We begin with a five-minute mindfulness exercise to melt stress away, unlocking a steady stream of inspiration.
• Prompt Your Passion: Daily prompts emailed to you that will spark your imagination and guide your writing journey.
• Find Your Tribe: Have an opportunity to share your work in a supportive haven where encouragement and feedback fuel your creativity.
Hi, I’m Rebecca Lyn Gold! I wear many hats – I’m a writing coach, a yoga and meditation teacher, a James Taylor super fan, the author of the award-winning book From Your Mat to Your Memoir, and the founder of Yogic Writing. But the one thing that truly connects all these passions is my desire to help writers like you unlock their potential.
As a writing coach who has helped hundreds of writers find their voice and writing rhythm, I understand the familiar pang of frustration from staring at a blank page. I know how the busyness of life can constantly push aside the dream of carving out dedicated writing time. Many writers are trapped in a cycle of self-doubt, unsure of how to begin translating those swirling ideas into words.
I’ve been there. For years, I struggled to find consistency and flow in my writing practice until I discovered the transformative power of yoga and meditation.
Here’s the thing: The skills we cultivate on the yoga mat and meditation cushion – focus, clarity, and flow – are the very same tools that can unlock a powerful, inspired writing practice.
Yogic Writing is a holistic approach to writing that embodies the philosophies and disciplines of yoga, meditation, and journaling as the foundation for writers of all levels to break through resistance, uncover memories, and find story nuggets buried within. We’ll tap into the power of your breath to quiet the mind, use movement to loosen creative blocks, and cultivate the focus needed to translate your ideas into compelling writing.
Don’t worry a bit! You absolutely don’t need ANY prior experience with yoga or meditation to join us. The Yogic Writing Circle welcomes everyone – seasoned writers, beginners, and everyone in between.
Whether you’ve never stepped on a yoga mat, you’re a seasoned practitioner, or somewhere in between, this space allows you to explore your creativity in a way that works for you.
Ready to ditch the blank page and write with confidence? Let’s embark on this writing journey
together. Join the Yogic Writing Circle and discover the transformative power of putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) with a clear mind and a wellspring of creativity.
"Yogic Writing is a practice of moving from the mind through the body to the page"
~ Rebecca Lyn Gold
I get it. This all sounds great, but you’re still wondering,
“Is the Yogic Writing Circle right for me?”
Here’s how you know.
The Yogic Writing Circle is a supportive community where you’ll connect with fellow writers on a similar journey – writing your stories. We’ll create a safe space to experiment, share your work (if you choose), and celebrate each other’s successes.
Yogic Writing is a practice created by Rebecca Gold that utilizes the philosophies and disciplines of yoga, meditation, and journaling for writers of all levels to break through resistance, uncover memories, and find story nuggets buried within. You can learn more about Yogic Writing as a practice in Rebecca’s award-winning book, From Your Mat to Your Memoir: Creating a Yogic Writing practice to find and write your life stories.
The Yogic Writing Circle focuses primarily on writing, with yoga being entirely optional. Whether you’re a yogi or not, everyone is welcome. Some participants have no interest in yoga at all, and that’s perfectly fine! Our main goal is to help you get your writing flowing and stay accountable to your writing practice while connecting with a community of fellow writers.
We meet three Mondays a month at Noon (EST) and three Thursdays at 9:00 am (EST). Each session is an hour of focused writing magic. We’ll kick things off with a writing prompt from Rebecca, or you can bring your own project. The first 45 minutes are all yours to crank out those words, and then there’s an optional 15-minute share session if you’d like some feedback or just want to connect with fellow writers.
Daily email writing prompt — A short yogic practice to settle your monkey mind, and a juicy writing prompt to move your thoughts from your mind to the page. (Monday through Friday)
Monday and Thursday Circle — Three Mondays a month at Noon (EST) and three Thursdays a month at 9:00AM (EST) we meet on Zoom for a one hour co-writing session. Rebecca will offer a prompt, or you’re welcome to work on whatever you choose. The session will be 45 minutes of writing, and 15 minutes of (optional) sharing.
Monthly Guest Speaker — One of the meetings every month we will have a guest speaker: a writer, editor, author, inspirational speaker, someone in our community, to talk to the group and share their insights and offerings. This is also a time for Q&A on anything having to do with writing.
We’re committed to making the Yogic Writing Circle accessible to as many writers as possible, which is why we’re extending Founding Member Price until December 31, 2024. After that, the price will increase, so now is the perfect time to join. Membership is just $6 a week–that’s about the cost of your favorite coffee and a decadent piece of dark chocolate (because priorities, right?). You’ll also have the option to pay for up to a year in advance. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to fuel your creativity at an unbeatable price!
NO! However, we both know that it will take a minimum of 3 months to see what the circle is all about– and if you choose a year, you get a month free! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s get writing!
Yes. You can cancel for any reason and you can cancel at any time. When you cancel, your membership will continue until the end of your current term.
Yogic Writing is all about flexibility—take what you like and leave what you don’t. Some writers already have their routine down and just enjoy the daily prompts. Others love joining our group sessions twice a week to connect with fellow writers and share their writing. Still others pop in for writing co-working when their schedule allows. Whatever works for you, we’re here to support your writing journey!
While you are always welcome to share your work with your fellow writers in group sessions, you are never required to do so.
The Yogic Writing Circle is a membership program that evolved from writing groups Rebecca has led for years. She envisions it as a lasting space for writers to come together and build a supportive community for years to come.
